Ph.D. program and admission requirements

Qualifications:
1. Be a citizen of SEAMEO member countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam
2. Age 45 or below
3. Being accepted for admission to the Ph.D. program in Agricultural and Resource Economics, Faculty of Economics, Kasetsart University, for the 2026/2027 academic year.
4. Hold a master’s degree in Applied Economics, Agricultural Economics, Resource Economics, Food Economics, Environmental Economics, Agribusiness, or a closely related field.
5. Have completed at least 6 credits of graduate-level economic theory coursework at the time of admission.
6. Demonstrate proficiency in English, with a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or an equivalent qualification.*
7. Submit a strong doctoral research proposal in key areas:
– Inclusive Agri-Food Value Chains and Rural Development
– Food and Nutrition Security
– Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Farming Systems
– Education, Capacity Building, and Youth Engagement
8. Be able to pursue full-time study for the duration of the program.
