Agri-food policy research unit
The Agri-food policy research unit develops national, regional, and global partnerships in support of applied economic and policy research and active stakeholder engagement to contribute to policy and program design and communications that is evidence-based and contributes strongly to sustainable and equitable agri-food system transformation in Thailand and Asia. The research unit is equipped with skilled researchers in applied economics and policy analysis in response to issues and challenges in food systems in Thailand, regionally, and globally. The research covers applied economic and policy research including food security, health and nutrition, climate change and climate variability, agricultural risk, bioeconomy, value chain analysis, behavioral economics and transboundary agri-food issues, international trade, regional economic integration and other topics central to understanding agri-food system transformation and guiding policy makers and stakeholders in sustainable and equitable directions through evidence-based policies and programs that are able also to garner needed stakeholder support.
